Dr. Apryl Alexander, PsyD
Dr. Apryl Alexander, PsyD, is the Director of the UNC Charlotte Violence Prevention Center, as well as the Metrolina Distinguished Scholar of Health and Public Policy and Associate Professor at UNC Charlotte. Her research focuses on interpersonal violence, poly-victimization, forensic assessment, human sexuality, and trauma-informed and culturally informed practice. She is an award-winning researcher and has been published in leading journals. Dr. Alexander also enjoys bringing psychology to the public through popular media, including her current service on the TEDxMileHigh Content Nomination Board.
In her role as a TrestleLink Officer, Dr. Alexander advises public impact strategy and organizational development. She brings extensive policy and media experience as she has testified in more than ten public hearings and has been interviewed by numerous media outlets, including The New York Times, USA Today, and NBC Nightly News.
