Ryan Martin

Ryan is the Deputy Director of the National Governors Association’s Center for Best Practices, where he assists in the Center’s work to help states develop effective solutions to public policy challenges. Previously, Ryan spent 10 years working with members of the U.S. House Committee on Ways and Means and U.S. Senate Finance Committee to develop and advance legislation to reduce poverty, protect children, improve maternal and child health, and ensure social programs achieve results. Prior to his work with Congress, Ryan was the Executive Officer for the Office of Family Assistance, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, which administers the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program. As a TrestleLink Board Member, Mr. Martin contributes his extensive experience in translating research into policymaking in both the federal executive and legislative branches, as well as at the state level.
