Tom Hall, PhD was one of the inaugural members of the 2023 Kauffman Foundation’s Research-to-Policy Ambassador program, and serves as Associate Professor of Finance and Economics at Christopher Newport University. His career has spanned investment banking, management consulting, analytics, applied econometrics, and nonprofit economic impact analysis, both in the United States and abroad. His research on organizational governance, venture capital, and entrepreneurship policy has been funded by the Yale School of Management, the Paris-based Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, and PriceWaterhouseCoopers’s Menlo Park Technology Center. He is currently a member of the European Union-based Entrepreneurship Policy Network, and has extensive experience in rigorous academic publication as well as translation of data-driven technical findings to lay audiences.

In his Board role as Treasurer, Tom assists with TrestleLink’s finances, marketing, and fee-for-service development initiatives. Based on his experience as a business school educator for over two decades, he also helps design assurance-of-learning programs for TrestleLink’s certificates and training programs.
